Welcome! I'm Alyssa Lukpat, a breaking news reporter at The Wall Street Journal.

Before I came to the Journal, I was a fellow at the New York Times. I reported breaking news for the Express desk. I also had stints at the Boston Globe, where I was a metro co-op and a web producer, and at the News & Observer as metro intern.

I have a master's degree in data journalism from Columbia Journalism School. At Northeastern University, where I went to college, I was awarded a student Emmy for my reporting on forest conservation in Panama.

Despite this collection of East Coast experiences, I am still a Californian. If you need to find me, a Manhattan spin studio is usually a good place to start.
