Welcome! I'm Alyssa Lukpat, a breaking news reporter at The Wall Street Journal.

Before I came to the Journal, I was a reporting fellow at The New York Times. I reported for the Express desk and I loved every minute of it. Once upon a time, I was a metro co-op and a web producer at The Boston Globe and a metro intern at The News & Observer.

I have a master's degree in data journalism from Columbia Journalism School. At Northeastern University, where I went to college, I was awarded a student Emmy for my reporting on forest conservation in Panama.

Despite this collection of East Coast experiences, I am a Californian through and through. If you need to find me, a Manhattan spin studio is usually a good place to start.
